This simple, coffee table dates back to the 1960s/1970s. Furniture like this used to be very common – today, it is anything but. The table was found – or, to be more precise, retrieved and saved – in the attic of an old cottage. Nielaba’s painting covers its entire surface. The skewed legs elevate the top and visually stabilise it, as if it was made from stone. The floating veins of colour endow it with liquidity and create an impression of seeing the earth’s topography from bird’s-eye view.
